Spring Styling with flowers and plants

It’s officially spring and there is an abundance of spring bulbs  in florists and garden centres. I was kindly asked by homeware retailer Wayfair to select a few pieces to style together for their Bring The Outdoors In campaign. I chose this planter to display these beautiful hyacinths. The fragrance that come from these beauties are heavenly and are a great alternative to a reed diffuser to fragrance a room.

I love cooking with herbs and so it only seemed right to have this herb box to display them in.

If florals isn’t your bag or you find it hard to keep plants alive why not opt for low maintainace like succulents which can also be used for glass terrariums. They are a fabulous way of styling your home and you don’t have to be a green thumb as they pretty much look after themselves. Why not introduce a botanical vibe and press leaves like fern and display them in a frame as wall art. Alternatively faux flowers can be used which now come in an array  varieties.

If you have the extra coins to splurge and fancy bigger project go for a botanical print or mural wallpaper for an accent wall. This way you are bringing the outdoors in all year round. Pinterest and Instagram are great sources for inspiration.

Julien Macdonald Glitterati collection for Graham & Brown

Julien Macdonald’s Glitterati range of wallpaper for Graham and Brown truly lives up to its name. There are florals, damask patterns and of course glitter in a range of colourways which all can be as subtle or dramatic depending on which mood you are going for in your room.

Each wallpaper design is paste the wall meaning the wallpaper does not expand or contract when moisture is added. You can paste the wall and dry roll your chosen wallpaper. Making your D.I.Y project easy if its your first time wallpapering or if you need to decorate a room quickly. Below are some of my favourite looks.

Each wallpaper have an amazing sparkle or metallic detailing. “Designing a wallpaper collection was something that came instinctively to me, the link between fashion and home has never been closer; It was a natural progression.”  It is easy to see how the British designer brings his catwalk inspiration to his wallpaper designs.

Whichever design you choose you can be assured it will bring all the glitz and glamour to your home.

Inside David Gandy’s…Home

Whilst looking through my twitter feed I came across a tweet “David Gandy’s west London Home” posted by the man himself of an interview he had done with the Telegraph. Well I was half expecting the usual clean lines, barely no furniture and little personality type bachelor pad, but I must admit I was pleasantly surprised.  Gandy’s  Fulham townhouse was cosy, quite charming and of course handsome.

Not only does his sophistication ooze from his home but the guy also loves finding a bargain and admits to sourcing many of his furniture from Gumtree and Ebay. Walls are  painted with Farrow & Ball (apparently Elephant’s Breath is a favourite) in shades of off white and beige mixed with fabrics from Savile Row and Prince of Wales check an instant way to warm up elegant greys.

The successful male model’s home didn’t always look this grand. There was 7 months of refurbishment which involved digging eight feet down into the basement which made space for a bedroom, utility room and a snug/study which benefits from a sky light.
